Two of our premium releases are available free of charge this week as part of the BeatsDigital free downloads promotion. Phish Funk's uplifting funky house remix of "Against The Grain", and JMD's hard trance remix of "By The Water" are available free for one week only, so grab them while you can here.

Happy New Year! A massive thanks to all our visitors who downloaded a total of 80,287 tracks from Toucan Music in 2007. The last year has been our best year to date, with the download total beating our previous record of 75,695 back in 2005, and as ever this total doesn't include several of our partner sites so the real figure will be considerably higher. We'll have plenty more releases coming up in 2008 so make sure to keep checking back!

The annual charts for 2007 have been compiled at Toucan and once again Risey (a.k.a. DJ Rise) has topped the download chart, this time with "Pattaya Boom Boom". The same track also topped the previews chart, making it officially the most popular Toucan track of 2007. This time around, Risey has swooped all the top six places in the download chart, making him easily our most popular artist over the past year. Well done Ryan!

Dreamworld take the remaining places in the download chart and also feature in the previews chart, while Phish Funk and Marc Burt score in the previews chart as well with the heavily played "Stargazing" and "Last Flight Home" respectively.

The percentages chart, which compares the number of previews to the number of full downloads, always throws up a few surprises and this year is no exception. The Beat Doctor remix of Psychadelik Pedestrian's "Power Line" takes the top place, with tracks by Excelsior, Risey, JMD, Redmann and Marc Burt all featuring in the top ten.
