Two old skool / rave breaks tracks feature in today's new release from Psychadelik Pedestrian. "Cry Over You" is an uplifting breaks anthem with a haunting melody, deep warping bassline, rippling analogue synths and arpeggios, a catchy piano hook and crisp, upfront breakbeats. "World Of Fantasy" is a darker, techno-influenced track with rolling beats, sizzling bass and old-skool stab sounds. A new DJ mix of Toucan tracks is available today from DJ mix netlabel Sonic Walker. The World Of Toucan 2 is an album length mix of some of the best Toucan house, trance and breaks tracks from 2003 to present and is available now to download completely free.

08 May 2009New Trance Release

sea.envy, a.k.a. Clayton Brooks, is better known for his netlabel mixes but here he has joined Toucan Music to release two of his own dancefloor-filling trance tracks. "Excerpt From The Rift" is brooding, hard trance with building synth riffs and 303-style acid sounds while "Dawn Of Time" is a melodic, uplifting trance track with an infectious tune. As well as the original mixes, JMD has remixed both tracks in his trademark hard trance style, and all four are available in full length, DJ friendly high quality mp3 format from our current releases page.

13 April 2009New House Release

Beat Doctor explores several styles in this three track E.P. release out today. "Beast" is an acid driven house track with a huge squelchy TB-303 style riff. "Crazy Gamer" is a dark, progressive electro house track with bleeping effects and a hard, dark distorted bass. Completing the trio is "Far Too Retro", a rework of the 2008 track "Too Retro" featuring old skool rave sounds and breakbeats with a modern, electro house twist. It's been a while, but after a hiatus of two and a half months we're back with our first release of the year featuring bang up to date remixes of two classic DJ Rise dance tunes. JMD remakes "Tribal Echo" in an energetic, melodic trance style with soaring synths, bouncy kick drum and pumping rhythms. Beat Doctor remixes "House Trancefusion" in an electro house style, with stuttering beats, huge distorted kick drums, reverberating sidechained synths and effects. A new hardcore track by Prism is released today and available at fellow netlabel BDW Rekordings. "Overdose" is a hard hitting, hoover driven UK hardcore track, and is now available to download in full from BDW with a second track "Gliding" coming in two weeks on 6th February.

2 January 2009Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! The Toucan annual charts for 2008 have been compiled, and we can reveal that in 2008 we had a massive total of 128,854 downloads - smashing our previous record of 80,287 set during 2007 - so a huge thank you to all of you out there who've been listening to the music. The large increase in direct downloads from the Toucan site had meant some big changes in our download chart this time around - Dreamworld's "Feel The Power" comes in at the top, with tracks from Phish Funk, Redmann, Beat Doctor, Psychadelik Pedestrian and Marc Burt also featuring in the top ten.

Most of our preview plays still come from external sites, and our previews chart reflects this with tracks from Risey a.k.a. DJ Rise and Dreamworld, our most popular artists on Music.Download.com, dominating and Risey's "Memories Of Thailand" at top spot. The percentage chart always throws up a few surprises and this year JMD is in pole position with "On Target".
